Used fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) plant and heat recovery from catalyst regeneration gas CO boiler. Processing capacity 1,650,000 tons/year using hydrofined distillate from hydrotreated vacuum distillate (HDV) plant.
- Plant description: The FCC plant aims for superior recovery of heavy hydrocarbons from heavy distillates by converting them following catalytic cracking into light products (gases) and high octane gasoline. The flue gases are directed to the CO boiler which transforms CO into CO2 and recovers heat for steam production.
- FCC products (including GASCON and MEROX) are: C2 gases that are directed to the DGRS; propane; propylene; (fraction) C4 cut to ETBE / MTBE; gasoline directed to TAME; heavy gas oil; light gas oil; kerosene; slurry.
- Plant was commissioned in 1974 and was shut down in 2010 having operated in 2009 at 882,167 tons/year (compared to the project capacity of 1,650,000 tons/year).
- Equipment list includes: (3) columns; (1) Reiser type reactor; (1) regenerator; (3) furnaces; (20) vessels; (38) heat exchangers; (1) CO boiler; (3) air coolers; (1) blower; (1) compressor; (28) pumps; (1) oil container.
