Reportedly little used Pall Water (Formally Pall Corporation) microfiltration membrane filtration system built and designed to UK water utility specification for potable water production in emergency situation. System comprises 2 no. 40ft containers. Fully automated stand-alone system uses Mitsubishi PLC/HMI and Siemens drives and include all backwash and clean in place / effluent neutralisation facilities with integrated monitoring of membrane integrity. There are 80 no. DWI regulation 31 approved Asahi Microza UNA-620C PVDF microfiltration membrane modules at 50sqmt per module giving a total system filtration area of 4000sqmt. The membrane pore size is approximately 0.1μm. System was designed to produce 8000 m3/d from upland reservoir water source. Without major modification this system could also be deployed for the recycling of municipal effluent ex biological treatment or for the recycling of any moderately turbid effluent with low biodegradability to provide cooling water for industry or feed water for reverse osmosis process.
