Description

Used 2000 tpd Comprising a 30”x60” five mill tandem originally manufactured by STEWART (GLASGOW) circa 1938, complete with headstock, rollers, open gear sets and bed beams and accessories such as bearings, trash and
scraper plates and inter-carriers.

2” pitch, roller size 60” x 33”, pressure 3500 psi
Overhauled during 2011, 2012 and 2013.

No. 2 Mill
STEWART (GLASGOW) three roller mill (top / feed / discharge)
2” pitch, roller size 60” x 33”, pressure 3500 psi
Overhauled during 2011 and 2013.

No. 3 Mill
STEWART (GLASGOW) three roller mill (top / feed / discharge)
2” pitch, roller size 60” x 33”, pressure 3500 psi
Overhauled during 2011 and 2013.

No. 1 Steam Turbine (driving Mills 1&2&3)
DRESSER-RAND 1000 HP / 4750 rpm single stage Turbodyne, model 703W, # D4424
Fitted with a WOODWARD type PGD governor, # 12011832
Installed 1999, order # UE-26663
Overhauled during 2010 and 2012 and re-commissioned in 2013.
A UPS installed in 2012 for the governor has already burnt out, the reason for this still to be
determined.

DOMINION 900 HP, input/output 1100/370 rpm, ratio 2.973
Between 12 and 15 years old
Overhauled during 2012.

No. 1 Low Speed Gearbox
PHILADELPHIA 2700 HP, input/output 1150-1500/668-87.1 rpm, ratio 17.22
Probably manufactured in the period 1997-2000.

Mill Lubrication System
All four mill and gear bed bearings are lubricated by an automatic FARVAL system with two 1.5 HP
motor driven oil pumps and complete with piping and fittings

Mill Hydraulic System
This system was upgraded and mostly replaced during 2011.

Mill Waste Water Pump
WALLWIN non-chokable 8”x6” centrifugal pump, type 4S-HRH-11, # 29320
Belt drive motor: CROMPTON GREAVES 20 HP / 975 RPM

Mill Roller Regrooving Lathe
MANNING MAXWELL & MOORE metal lathe, 20’ bed length
Probably dates back to 1938

Mill Crane
3 ton capacity overhead crane, 60’ wide running on 108’ long beams
Long travel motor drive – 5 HP, Hoist motor drive – 20 HP
Overhauled during 2011
